Top Ten Tuesday; Books Written Before I Was Born
It's Tuesday and time for a new Top Ten Tuesday post, courtesy of That Artsy Reader Girl. The theme of the week was books written before I was born.
Here's my picks.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
The Woman in Black by Susan Hill
Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Shining by Stephen King
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
Animal Farm by George Orwell
Ariel by Sylvia Plath
The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman
I reread The Hobbit via audiobook recently and loved it. Happy reading! :D My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/books-written-before-i-was-born-the-classics-edition/

I read it several years ago and I can't deny it was an interesting read.
DeleteI love The Hobbit! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love The Hobbit too. :-)
DeleteI loved The Woman in Black movie, but I didn't realize until later that it was based on a book -- I do wish I'd read that first; I'm wondering if I'll be as satisfied by the spooky imagery in text alone. Not an unfounded fear, since I also loved the '99 adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House and was underwhelmed by the book when I read it afterward.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we do get a bit disappointed.
