As it is the last day of 2018 I decided it was probably time to do a wrap up post for all the challenges I've participated in this year. As usual, I overestimated a bit on how many challenges I would manage to participate in, so I didn't accomplish the goals in all of them. Regardless, I still had a fun reading year and here's my lists. Siden jeg har lest de forrige bøkene om Fredrik Beier, hadde jeg lyst til å lese den nyeste som heter Korset skrevet av Ingar Johnsrud. I dag kommer omtalen av romanen. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Han har ofret alt. Men er det nok? Sannhetens time er kommet. En av myndighetenes mest betrodde menn blir funnet død i en vaskehall i Oslo. With both Literary Voyage Around the World Challenge (Angola) and Library Love Challenge in the back of my mind, I ended up borrowing The Book of Chameleons by José Eduardo Agualusa at the library. Today, I'll post the review of this novella. Description from Goodreads The narrator of this novel is a rather charming lizard. My Thoughts on the Book The Book of Chameleons is a quirky little book, but quite enjoyable. Even if the book is a quick read, it also has a bit of depth.

I forbindelse med Literary Voyage Around the World Reading Challenge (Færøyene), samt Cloak and Dagger Mystery Challenge, endte jeg opp med å lese krimromanen Blid er sommarnatta av Jógvan Isaksen. I dag kommer omtalen av boka. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Journalist Sonja Pætursdóttir blir funnen død ved foten av Stødlafjall. Politiet meiner det er eit uhell, men journalisten Hannis Martinsson, er ikkje så sikker. Da han kort etter finn Sonjas nære venn død, er han overtydd om at det er ein samanheng mellom dei to dødsfalla. Blid er sommarnatta er til nå kommen på dansk, islandsk, tysk, engelsk, og er også kjøpt for utgjeving på fransk og ungarsk. Jógvan Isaksen er mag. art. i nordisk litteratur, sidan 1986 lektor ved Københavns Universitet. Mangeårig forlagsredaktør og prisvinnande forfattar. I was browsing at the library, with Library Love Challenge in mind, and I ended up borrowing Heavy Metal And You by Christopher Krovatin. Today I'll post the review of this YA novel. (Inneholder affiliate linker) I forbindelse med både Literary Voyage Around the World Reading Challenge (Grønland), Library Love Challenge og Cloak and Dagger Mystery Challenge, endte jeg opp med å lese krimromanen  Jenta uten hud  av Mads Peder Nordbo, som jeg lånte på biblioteket. I dag kommer omtalen av romanen. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Om ondskap, familier og årsaker til å drepe. Matthew Cave er en dansk journalist i slutten av tjueårene. Han har mistet livsgnisten etter at hans samboer og deres ufødte barn døde i en trafikkulykke. Flukten fra virkeligheten har drevet ham til Nuuk, Grønland. Det eneste sporet han har etter sin amerikanske far, er et tjue år gammelt postkort, som faren sendte fra Thulebasen før han forsvant. Matthew har fått jobb i den lokale avisen, og blir sendt til kanten av innlandsisen for å dekke oppdagelsen av en mumifisert viking. Alt tyder på en verdenssensasjon, og det lille samfunnet holder pusten av spenning. Men kaoset bryter løs da mumi...

Med både Cloak and Dagger Mystery Challenge, Library Love Challenge og Literary Voyage Around The World Reading Challenge (Skottland), endte jeg opp med å lese Svarthuset av Peter May. Nå kommer omtalen av denne krimromanen. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Et bestialsk mord på Isle of Lewis ligner et annet mord begått på fastlandet noen måneder tidligere, og etterforsker Fin Macleod blir sendt fra Edinburgh for å bistå i saken. Fin er selv oppvokst på denne øya i Ytre Hebridene, og mordutredningen blir samtidig en reise tilbake til hans egen vanskelige oppvekst.  Fin møter personer og steder som han tidligere har flyktet fra. Det vakre, men ødslige landskapet fører ham tilbake i tiden. Klippeøya An Sgeir, fuglefjellet ute i Atlanterhavet der øyas unggutter har sin manndomsprøve på den årlige gugajakten, bærer en hemmelighet som Fin helst ikke vil vite om. In February the theme of Platypire Diversity Challenge was Black History Month, so I decided to read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, which I borrowed at the library. As it is January, I thought it was time to sign up for a few new reading challenges. As usual I have the issue of limiting myself in terms of how many I sign up for, but luckily some books can be used for several challenges which makes things a bit easier. Also, I have participated in some of these challenges earlier years (Cloak and Dagger, Foodies and Back to the Classics to be specific), so it will be nice to revisit them. In order to kick myself a certain place in terms of my world literature project, I also decided to join the Literary Voyage Around the World Reading Challenge, as it basically gave me an excuse to read some of the books which makes me capable of crossing off a few countries.
