Recently, I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC of the manga Passion Becomes You by Michelle Reid and Takane Yonetani through Netgalley. I read it shortly afterwards and today I'll post my review. As I was a bit keen on finishing the Godchild manga by Kaori Yuki, I ended up reading volume 8 and today I'll post my review. Description from Goodreads It is time for the truth to be told. My Thoughts on the Manga Even though it's still dark and gloomy, I felt this was one of the worst volumes of Godchild that I've read as the storyline was so confusing, even the ending.

Due to what happened in volume 6, I really wanted to read more of the Godchild manga series and today I'll post the review of volume 7. Description from Goodreads Shall the son suffer for the continued sins of the father? Alexis hatches an evil plan involving a beautiful girl with a sick fascination for his son. And could Jizabel's hatred of Cain also stem from their father? Step into the past as we learn more about the tortured early life of Dr. Disraeli! My Thoughts on the Manga Godchild is perhaps a bit of a messed up, dark and gloomy manga, but that is part of the reason why I like it. This volume shows even more just how much Cain's father has messed with his mind.

As I needed to have a bit of change in my reading, I participated in Manga Madness Readathon a couple of months back. Godchild Volume 6 by Kaori Yuki was one of the mangas I read and today I'll post the review. Description from Goodreads Cain stumbles on a secret that will change his life forever. My Thoughts on the Book What I really like about Godchild is that it is set in the Victorian era and that it plays around with the crappy dynamics of a really dysfunctional family. Godchild also has complex characters The more I read Godchild, the more I get a weak spot for Cain. I might add that I got really pissed off because of Riff in this volume, but I am not going to give you any spoilers.

As part of the Manga Madness Readathon and Foodies Read Challenge, I ended up reading Food Wars! Volume 3 by Yuto Tsukuda, Shun Saeki  and Yuki Morisaki. Today I'll post the review. Due to Foodie Reads Challenge and Manga Madness Readathon, I ended up reading Food Wars! Vol. 2 by Yuto Tsukuda, Shun Saeki and Yuki Morisaki. Today I'll post my review of this manga. Vol. 1  by Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki as a result and here comes the review. Siden det var en stund siden jeg hadde lest noe manga sist, endte jeg opp med å lese Godchild, volume 5 av Kaori Yuki, og nå er det tid for omtale. Beskrivelse fra Goodreads Cain crosses a high official of the secret society of DELILAH when he attempts to stop a massacre of socialites at the lushly restored Crimone Gardens. And later, an old nursery rhyme plays out to eerie perfection during a fateful carriage ride in the sinister "Solomon Grundy's Sunday." Mine tanker om boka Jeg likte de forrige bøkene i Godchild-serien, så det var ikke noen overraskelse at jeg likte denne også. Noe av det jeg kanskje likte best, var den bittelille historien med "Solomon Grundy's Sunday".

Etter å ha savnet det å lese manga en liten stund, endte jeg opp med å lese Godchild #4 av Kaori Yuki. I 1800-talls London, en ung mann med navnet Cain blir jarl etter farens antatte død. Med tjeneren Riff, undersøker han mysteriøse kriminelle hendelser som forfølger ham uansett hvor han går. I denne boka er det savnede gutter og en liten jente som ikke skulle ha eksistert som gjør Cain nysgjerrig, samt en finner ut mer om Dr. Disraeli og hans noe kompliserte sammenheng med Cain's far og det hemmelige samfunnet DELILAH. Det er helt grei manga for de som liker å lese om Victoria-tiden, og Kaori Yuki går i dybden i margen hvis det er noe han føler han burde fortelle mer om.

Selv om jeg iblant leser manga, tror jeg det er første gangen jeg skriver omtale om manga på denne bloggen. Jeg har hatt Godchild 1-3 av Kaori Yuki liggende en stund (som så mange andre bøker), og leste igjennom dem nå nylig. Handlingen i Godchild serien er basert i 1800-tallets London og rundt Lord Cain Hargreaves. Familien hans har en mørk fortid, og sammen med søsteren hans Mary Weather og tjeneren Riff, ender de ofte opp med å undersøke mysteriøse mord som skjer rundt dem. De tre bøkene jeg har lest til nå i serien, er fullt brukbare, spesielt hvis en er interessert i krim og gothiske elementer. Jeg ville ikke anbefalt serien for unger, men den kan passe for voksne og eldre tenåringer.
