Reverse Readathon Mid-Event Survey

Today, there's the Reverse Readathon over at Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon . Reverse, in the sense that it starts 12 hours earlier than usual, which means it started at 2 AM here in Norway. That said, I didn't start in the middle of the night, as I wanted to be awake and present while reading. So I basically started after I got up this morning. Alright, it might be slightly past mid-event time at the moment, but I still wanted to answer the mid-event survey. Mid-Event Survey: 1. What are you reading right now? I just finished reading the short story collection Trist som faen by Ari Behn. 2. How many books have you read so far? So far, I've read four books, all of them pretty short. Other than the short story collection mentioned above, I've read Tåkedis by Frode Eie Larsen and Dag Otto Lauritzen, Andre guder by Jørgen Brekke and Min sønn by Arne Svingen. 3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Honestly, I'm not quite sur...

Dewey's Readathon; Intro Survey

Image
In less than an hour,  Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon officially starts. I've participated so many times, I've lost count, but nevertheless, it's a fun readathon with participants all over the world. I know a friend of mine in Germany is participating too. Anyway, it's time to answer the intro survey. 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Bryne, Norway. 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I can't quite decide between Mambo in Chinatown by Jean Kwok or The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton. Se dette innlegget på Instagram I decided on a laidback #tbrpile for this #readathon . . . . #deweysreadathon #deweys24hourreadathon #bookstacksaturday #bookstack #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookworm #bookdragon #igreads #igroses #booksaremypassion #readingplans #readingismagic Et innlegg delt av Kristin Frøyland Jørgensen (@gothicvamperstein) April 25, 2020 kl. 4:10 P...

Announcing the Easter Crime Readathon

Image
Early next month, it's Easter. In Norway, Easter often means watching crime shows on TV or reading crime novels. It's even a tradition called Easter Crime (more about it  here , for those of you who's a bit curious). With Easter and crime novels in the back of my mind, I wanted to create a laid back and hopefully fun readathon. From today and until April 14th will be a Easter Crime Readathon. You can read crime, mystery, thriller, non-fiction about crime, whatever floats your boat, as long as it's something in the line of those genres (or similar). Audio, e-book, phyiscal books, graphic novels, I'm not going to stop you. I want this to be a fun readathon without any pressure. You can read one book, you can read a double digit number of books. As I said, I want it to be fun. Also, feel free to use the tag #TrykksverteEasterReadathon2020 on Instagram if you want to to show off what you're reading.

24in48 Readathon; July 2019

Yay, this is the first of the two days in the  24in48  readathon, where the aim is to read for 24 hours during 48 hours (hence the name of the readathon). It's not like I have a massive TBR list for this readathon as I'm not sure how much I'll manage to read, but I'm planning to read The Haunting of Hill House Shirley Jackson and Myrtles Plantation by Frances Kermeen as I need to read a few spooky books for October (I'm planning to review only spooky books for that month due to Halloween). Se dette innlegget på Instagram Yes, I am the person with two spooky books in my #24in48tbr for the #24in48 readathon next weekend. Mainly because I need to read some more creepy books for book reviews in October on my blog. . . . #24in48readathon #horror #quote #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookworm #bookdragon #igreads #booksarelife Et innlegg delt av Kristin Frøyland Jørgensen (@gothicvamperstein) Juli 13, 2019 kl. ...

Wrap Up Post; Spring Into Horror Readathon

Now, where did April go? Oh well, nevertheless I've been a bit busy with the  Spring Into Horror Readathon . As I'm a bit of a sucker for horror, mystery and thrillers, it wasn't like it was a hard readathon for me in that sense. Here's the list of books I managed to read this month (one of the reviews will come later on, July at the earlierst due to the blog schedule). The Reading Buddy by Bryce Gibson The Mystery of the Blue Train by Agatha Christie Rainbirds by Clarissa Goenawan The Uninvited Corpse (Food Blogger Mysteries #1) by Debra Sennefelder Bare du som passer på av Jarle Sten Olsen Murder, She Knit by Peggy Ehrhart

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon; Closing Survey

Dewey's Readathon is more or less over and I have to admit that I gave up on reading at 11 PM last night as I couldn't think straight anymore. It's not fun reading if I feel like it's a chore instead of fun, so I went to bed. Nevertheless, at least I managed to read some books, though not as many as I had planned. Now it's perhaps time to write the closing survey. 1. Which hour was most daunting for you? I had to throw in the towel at the 10th hour as I couldn't think straight anymore. 2. Tell us ALLLLL the books you read! Poems on the Underground edited by Gerard Benson (poetry anthology) Love Poems by Pablo Neruda (poetry collection) Bonsai by Alejandro Zambra (novella) Finne kyrkjedøra i meg by Per Helge Genberg (novella) 3. Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners? Probably Love Poems and Poems on the Underground. 4. What’s a really rad thing we could do during the next Read-a-thon that would make you smile? I do like it as it i...

Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon; Opening meme

It's less than one hour left until Dewey's Readathon officially starts, which means it's time to answer the opening meme. For those who are unfamiliar with it,  Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon  is basically a reading marathon where you read for 24 hours, even though I might admit that since it starts at 2 PM where I live, I do get some sleep during the night. I don't see the point in trying to push myself if my head is too loopy due to lack of sleep. Anyway, here's my answers for the opening meme. 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Bryne, Norway 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? Probably "The Spy" by Paulo Coelho 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? A chocolate macaron from  Chili Chocolate  and some orange flavoured marzipan with chocolate coating. 4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I'm obviously a bookworm and I'm currently working at an independent bookstore in Sta...

Omtale; Letters from Father Christmas av J. R. R. Tolkien

Image

Omtale; A Gift From Bob av James Bowen

Image
Da jeg fant ut at den tredje boka om Bob og James skulle komme ut, endte jeg opp med å bestille den på nettet dagen den kom ut i oktober. "I brought out the 'pigs in blankets' first, placing the hot tray on the worktop. The sight and smell of them sent Bob into a complete frenzy. His tail was swishing around so fast that I wondered whether he might take off." "These people were in a frenzy over things that, in all likelihood, they or the recipients didn't really need at all. I didn...

Omtale; The Tomten and the Fox av Astrid Lindgren

Image
