The Smell of Ink/Lukten av Trykksverte

In relation to Platypire Diversity Challenge (Hispanic History Month), I ended up reading the poetry collection Love Poems by Pablo Neruda and today I'll post my review of it. My Thoughts on the Book It was a good poetry collection and I really enjoyed the poems, but I dare say that they were a lot better in the original Spanish rather than the translated English. ...

I forbindelse med Back to the Classics-utfordringa, leste jeg diktsamlinga Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair av Pablo Neruda (A Classic in Translation - kategorien). Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair ble først utgitt i 1924, og den utgaven jeg har, er bispråklig (spansk og engelsk) med illustrasjoner av Pablo Picasso. Diktsamlinga skapte en viss skandale da den først ble utgitt på grunn av de seksuelle hentydningene i flere av diktene. Personlig likte jeg denne diktsamlinga, kanskje litt på grunn av at denne utgaven var tospråklig og en dermed fikk en annen dybde i diktene enn hvis en "bare" leste gjendiktningene/oversettelsene av diktene.
