Tidligere i år var jeg såpass heldig at jeg fikk tilsendt et leseeksemplar av den historiske romanen Arven fra familien Palmisano av Rafel Nadal fra forlaget. Nå har jeg lest den og i dag kommer omtalen av boka. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Første verdenskrig raser, og i en liten landsby i Sør-Italia blir det født en gutt og ei jente, med bare noen minutters mellomrom. I skyttergravene på slagmarken har fedrene deres nettopp dødd. Nå er alle mennene i Vitantonios familie døde - alle 21. Alle unntatt Vitantonio. For noen måneder siden var jeg såpass heldig at jeg fikk tilsendt et leseeksemplar av romanen Jeg vet meg et land av Victoria Bø fra forlaget. Nå har jeg lest den og i dag kommer omtalen. Tidligere i år var jeg såpass heldig at jeg fikk tilsendt et leseeksemplar av den historiske romanen Thoron - Jenta fra den grønne øya av Gunhild Haugnes fra forfatteren. Nå har jeg lest den og i dag kommer omtalen av boka. Beskrivelse fra forlaget Thoron vokser opp hos sin hedenske mormor på den irske landsbygda. Lenge er hun uvitende om at hun er datter av den norske kongen Håkon Håkonsson. A few months ago I was fortunate enough to recieve an ARC of the historical fiction novel The Restless Wave by Sarah Meyrick through Netgalley. I read it shortly afterwards and today I'll post my review. My Thoughts on the Book This is an interesting novel, where the different narrators have their own struggles and they (the characters) are linked to each other. It takes a while before the dots between them are connected, but the historical background (such as D-Day) is obviously researched.

As I've seen the novel The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris all over the place, I decided to read it for the Historical Fiction Challenge and today I'll post the review. As a history buff, I do follow Tony Pollard (one of the presenters in the documentary series Nazi Megastructures) on Twitter. I found out he has written the novel The Secrets of the Lazarus Club, so I obviously ended up buying it. As I'm reading and reviewing a bunch of crime novels at the moment, I figured out this was the perfect time to read it. I forbindelse med både Historical Fiction Reading Challenge og Diversity Reading Challenge, endte jeg opp med å lese Under udalatrærne av Chinelo Okparanta og i dag kommer omtalen av romanen. I begynnelsen av året var jeg heldig nok at jeg mottok et leseeksemplar av den historiske romanen En modig datter av Renita D'Silva. Nå har jeg lest den og i dag kommer omtalen av boka. I forbindelse med Historical Fiction Challenge, endte jeg opp med å lese Mischling av Affinity Konar og i dag kommer omtalen av romanen. Beskrivelse fra forlaget I 1944 ankommer de tolvårige tvillingsøstrene Pearl og Stasha til Auschwitz sammen med tusenvis av andre jøder. De to jentene havner i «Mengeles Zoo», der Josef Mengele utsatte tvillinger for redselsfulle genetiske og kirurgiske eksperimenter. As it is a new year, it's also time to think about what reading challenges I want to participate in this year. I'm personally hosting a 2019 Diversity Reading Challenge , but I want to do some other challenges as well. I've often done the mistake of somewhat overestimating just how many challenges I'm capable of doing within a year, but I'll participate in some nontheless. Anyway, here's the challenges I've decided I want to participate in; 2019 Non-Fiction Reading Challenge  - my goal is to read minimum 5 non-fiction books by female authors Historical Fiction Challenge  - Victorian Reader (5 books) I might add that just to make things a bit more "difficult" for myself, I've decided that I'm only going to read books by female authors this year. It's not that it's anything wrong with male authors, but I really want to highlight female authors this year.
