About The Blogger

My name is Kristin, a 30 something bookdragon who happens to be a book blogger. Once upon a time I graduated from University of Stavanger (Norway) with a Bachelor degree, majoring in English, while doing a minor in history.

Although I write this book blog for fun, I do get some free ARC's/press copies both from Netgalley and various publishers. I'm also in the affiliate program for Book Depository. That does not mean that I earn that much though, if at all.

For inquiries and such, feel free to contact me at gothicvamperstein at gmail dot com

Top Ten Tuesday; Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time

Image
It's Tuesday, which means it's time for another Top Ten Tuesday post courtesy of  That Artsy Reader Girl  and today's topic is books I wish I couldr read again for the first time. Here's my ten picks. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness Description from Goodreads Deep in the heart of Oxford's Bodleian Library, Diana Bishop—a young scholar and the descendant of witches—unearths an enchanted alchemichal manuscript. Wanting nothing to do with sorcery, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery has set a fantastical underworld stirring, and soon a horde of daemons, witches, and other creatures descends upon the library. Among them is the enigmatic Matthew Clairmont, a vampire with a keen interest in the book. Equal parts history and magic, romance and suspense, A Discovery of Witches is a mesmerizing and addictive tale of passion and obsession that reveals the closely guarded secrets of an enchanted world. The Woman in Black by Susan Hill Description...

Review; Sell Low, Sweet Harriet (Sarah Winston Garage Sale Mystery #8) by Sherry Harris

Image
Last year I was fortunate enough to recieve an ARC of the cosy mystery Sell Low, Sweet Harriet (Sarah Winston Garage Sale Mystery #8) by Sherry Harris through Netgalley. I read it shortly afterwards and today I'll post my review. Description from Goodreads ONE WOMAN'S TRASH . . . Sarah Winston's garage sale business has a new client: the daughter of a couple who recently died in a tragic accident while away on a trip to Africa. Their house is full of exotic items from around the world that need to be sold off. When Sarah learns that the deceased were retired CIA agents, the job becomes more intriguing--but when an intruder breaks in and a hidden camera is found, it also becomes more dangerous. And Sarah has enough on her plate right now since she's investigating a murder on the side at the nearby Air Force base, where her status as a former military spouse gives her a special kind of access. . . . IS ANOTHER WOMAN'S TROUBLE With so much work piling up, Sara...
