Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge; My "Go To" Movies for a Pick-Me-Up

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, courtesy of Long and Short Reviews. The theme of the week was my "go to" book or movie for a pick-me-up.

For me, there's a couple of movies that always works as a pick-me-up and that's Dracula - Dead and Loving It, The Addams Family Values, Sleepy Hollow and Beetlejuice. Some might think I'm a bit weird, but that's how I am. You can't take the goth kid out of me no matter how hard you try.

  3. For a Dracula movie, I adore the 1980s movie "Love at First Bite". Along the same lines was "Zorro, the Gay Blade". Great, silly, funny adaptions of classics.

And I agree with Wendi, no need to take the goth kid out of you!!

  4. I'm a huge fan of Leslie Nielsen (grew up in the era of Airplane! and all it's sequels) so I support this choice. Also, a couple years ago, my then 17-year-old was looking for good Halloween movies. I asked if she'd ever seen Beetlejuice and - shocker - she had not. She wasn't much interested at first, but once I got her to sit down and watch it? It's now one of her favorite Halloween movies. :)

  6. All great movies. The Addams Family, firs movie got me out of a deep funk when it came out. Sometime black humor can make you feel better. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/06/wc-062420.html
