Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge; My "Go To" Movies for a Pick-Me-Up
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for a new Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge, courtesy of Long and Short Reviews. The theme of the week was my "go to" book or movie for a pick-me-up.
For me, there's a couple of movies that always works as a pick-me-up and that's Dracula - Dead and Loving It, The Addams Family Values, Sleepy Hollow and Beetlejuice. Some might think I'm a bit weird, but that's how I am. You can't take the goth kid out of me no matter how hard you try.
Those are all great movies. :)

They certainly are. :-)
DeleteNo need to take the goth kid out of you. I like the choices. Good ones, all of them. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you. :-)
DeleteFor a Dracula movie, I adore the 1980s movie "Love at First Bite". Along the same lines was "Zorro, the Gay Blade". Great, silly, funny adaptions of classics.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Wendi, no need to take the goth kid out of you!!
Thanks for the suggestions. It's always fun with some silly and funny adaptions of classics.
DeleteI'm a huge fan of Leslie Nielsen (grew up in the era of Airplane! and all it's sequels) so I support this choice. Also, a couple years ago, my then 17-year-old was looking for good Halloween movies. I asked if she'd ever seen Beetlejuice and - shocker - she had not. She wasn't much interested at first, but once I got her to sit down and watch it? It's now one of her favorite Halloween movies. :)

How can one possibly go wrong with Leslie Nielsen and Beetlejuice?
DeleteOhhh.... I love all those films. Beetlejuice cracks me up everytime. Thanks for sharing. Here's mine. https://www.tenastetler.com/lsrs-wednesdays-blog-challenge-my-go-tobook-or-movie-for-a-pick-me-up/
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Beetlejuice is such a fun movie.
DeleteAll great movies. The Addams Family, firs movie got me out of a deep funk when it came out. Sometime black humor can make you feel better. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/06/wc-062420.html
ReplyDeleteI love the first Addams Family movie too. And I totally agree that sometimes a bit of black humour makes everything better.
DeleteExcellent selections! Man, I love being reminded of all these things...
ReplyDeleteMy list is here.
Thank you and you're welcome. :-)
DeleteOh, I love Sleepy Hollow! So atmospheric and creepy and Johnny Depp is fab in it.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow is a great movie and one of the movies Johnny Depp is actually good.
DeleteI always loved Sleepy Hollow, even after I stopped liking Johnny Depp.
ReplyDeleteI've stopped liking him too, if it's to any comfort. I think a lot of us have.
