Own Voices; A List of Books by Black Authors

After the senseless death of George Floyd, riots as well as the focus on police violence towards black people have turned up again. I've almost felt a bit powerless, especially as I'm white and living in Norway, but I decided to do like Starr from The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and use my voice.

The way I'm going to do that? Well, aside from pointing out the obvious that black lives matter and police violence is a bad thing, I'm going to make a list of books written by black authors. It may not be much, but at least it's something.

Announcing the 2025 Diversity Reading Challenge

Even though I'm technically having a hiatus for my book blogging at the moment, I still wanted to announce the 2025 Diversity Reading Challenge, just in case anyone wanted to participate in it and start planning their TBR pile. I’m not going to make any categories or levels for this challenge, as I want it to be a bit flexible. Read as many books as you feel like reading and yes, it can be children’s books, graphic novels, e-books, non-fiction, audio books, poetry and you-name-it. As it is a diversity reading challenge, it would be mean to exclude some types of reading materials, right? Now, what is diversity you might ask?
