Top Five Wednesday; Books That Got Me Into Reading

It's Wednesday and perhaps time for another Top Five Wednesday post, courtesy of the Top 5 Wednesday Goodreads group and the theme of the week was books that got me into reading. My late parents read aloud to me when I was a kid, so in a sense they made me readers even before I could read myself (heck, my mother even named me after the protagonist in Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset, so I guess my love of books was meant to be).

Anyway, here's five books that got me into reading when I was a kid.

Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl

When the Robbers Came To Cardamom Town by Thorbjørn Egner

Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren

The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis

The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter

  1. A great list. We got my son some Beatrix Potter and CSLewis books when he was younger (to be fair he is only 4 now!).

    Have a great week!
