Review; Hex Appeal by Kate Johnson

A good while ago I read the paranormal romcom Hex Appeal by Kate Johnson and today I'll post my review of the book.

All Essie ever wanted was to have a normal life but in the end she found herself drawn back to Beldam House because she just can’t stop her witchiness (although the ability to instantly chill wine is pretty awesome, even she has to admit).

Into this coven of chaos stumbles gorgeous, clueless Josh, their new landlord – and he’s just discovered his tenants haven’t paid rent since the 1700s! As Josh is drawn further into the lives of the inhabitants of Beldam House, Essie is determined to keep him at broomstick’s length. That is, until a family secret, lying hidden for centuries, puts Josh firmly under her spell…

My Thoughts on the Book
Hex Appeal is one of those warm and cosy books with likeable characters, some of them rather quirky which is a huge bonus. The setting is pretty great too. Although the story/plot was so-so, one can't really expect too much of a romcom really. It's a charming read though, and sometimes that's needed.

Announcing the 2022 Diversity Reading Challenge

As we're writing 2022 in two months, I figured out it was time to announce the 2022 Diversity Challenge. I've hosted it in 2019 and 2021, and decided to host it next year too. I’m not going to make any categories or levels for this challenge, as I want it to be a bit flexible.
