(This post contains affiliate links)
It's yet another Friday, which means it's probably time for a new Book Blogger Hop post, thanks to the blogger behind Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer. The question of the week was "In regards of Banned Books Week, what are your favourite books that has been banned or challenged?".

As there are so many good books that has been banned or challenged, I decided to write a list instead with some of my favourites, inspired by this list.
Great list. I've read half of the books you included myself and also enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. - Katie
Thanks. :-) It's always nice with good books.
DeleteWhy on earth was Black Beauty banned?!
ReplyDeleteBasically because of the word "black" in the title. I might add that it was South Africa who banned it under the Apartheid era.
DeleteSome books are hard to believe about the ban and I wonder why.
ReplyDeleteI have read a few of the banned ones.
Thanks for switching to English, Kristen. :)
Happy Hopping!!

You're welcome, as I thought it would be easier for all of us if I switched to English. If you check out this link (http://www.banned-books.org.uk/all) you'll find the reason(s) why the books were banned. :-)
DeleteI didn't think to list Anne Frank, but that one is a favorite of mine as well. Harry Potter's one of my favorites too! You chose a great topic, Kristin. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and thanks for the nice comment. HP and Anne Frank are great books.
DeleteGreat list! I really need to read Animal Farm and Frankenstein again!

Thanks for the nice comment. :-)
DeleteSome great selections!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment. :-)
DeleteI didn't realise Frankenstein was on a banned list! Although, I'm not surprised really considering some of the absurd reasons for banning books. I'm proud that I've read quite a few of them ;)
ReplyDeleteI've seen quite a few weird reasons why books have been banned and also the change from decade to decade. In the 50's a novel was banned in Norway for it's sexual content, but nowadays it's basically peanuts compared to what can be read.
