My Favourite... Book Character I'd Like To Go Shopping With

Image
It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for a new My Favourite... post thanks to the blogger behind  Maureen's Books . The theme of the week was book character I'd like to go shopping with and my answer is Belle from the fairy tale Beauty and the Beast (which also has a bunch of movie adaptions). Let's face it, as we both love books, it's a fair chance we'd end up in bookstores and I'm okay with that. We all have a little Belle in all of us! pic.twitter.com/58Rs0jHeem — Sabrina Jeffries (@SabrinaJeffries) October 17, 2017

Book Description: Let me share some wisdom with you. There is evil in this world we cannot see, not because it is hidden from us, but because our minds refuse to accept its existence. But once we are able to get past what everyone says should not be, it becomes our responsibility to stop the evil we now see. This insight wasn’t given to me until a year after I lost the most important person in my life: Bryce Rowan. Now, after another death at the same spot where he died—the overlook, where the mysterious lights dance amongst the trees—I begin to wonder if they were accidents after all. Lucky for me, I’m not the only curious one in town. Cooper, ...

Falkener o...

Dewey's Readathon; Closing Survey

Dewey's Readathon is more or less over for this time and I'm already looking forward to the next one in April 2018. As the readathon didn't start until 2 PM here in Norway, I didn't get the chance to read as much as I would have liked as I quite frankly needed some sleep, but I did manage to read six books nontheless. Now, time to answer the closing survey. 1. Which hour was most daunting for you? I honestly started to struggle in Hour 9, which made me figure out it was probably time for bed. 2. Tell us ALLLLL the books you read! Most of the books I read was in Norwegian, but here's the list anyway. Poetry; Jeg var et barn av Anna Rystedt Fysisk av Andrew McMillan Dette skjer ikke av Ida Lórien Ringdal Jente med dødningshode av Mona Høvring Biographies and similar; Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs Øverst på nazistenes liste av Arne Vestbø 3. Which books would you recommend to other Read-a-thoners? That would be the two bio...

Dewey's Readathon; 10 Years in 10 Books

As it is the ten year anniversary for Dewey's Readathon, the hosts had a grand challenge for us participants. That challenge was to write a list of ten books, one recommendation for each year the readathon has existed (basically 2007 to 2017). I can't deny that I've read quite a few books throughout the years, but when searching for suitable books, I realized that I've read a lot more "newly published" books after I've started book blogging. Luckily I still managed to find a book I've read for each year and here's my list of book recommendations. 2007; No Time for Goodbye by Linwood Barclay 2008; Hakawati by Rabih Alameddine 2009; I am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced by Nujood Ali 2010; Black Mamba Boy by Nadifa Mohamed 2011; A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness 2012; I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai 2013; Scales by Amity Green 2014; Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur 2015; Murder in Absentia by Assaph Mehr 2016; Bitter Sweet Love by Mich...

Dewey's Readathon - Opening Meme

It's finally Dewey's Readathon again and as always I'm excited for it. To be honest, some of us look forward to Dewey's Readathon like some people (read: kids) look forward to Christmas. There's something about the search for the right reading material and snacks. As always, there is the opening meme and now it's time for me to answer the questions in that meme. 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Bryne, Norway. 2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to? I might sound a bit "weird" for saying this, but for me it is "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl" by Harriet Jacobs. 3) Which snack are you most looking forward to? Probably the cinnamon swirl I purchased earlier today and chocolate. 4) Tell us a little something about yourself! I graduated with my undergrad degree, majoring in English, earlier this year (I even pulled off recieving an A on my BA thesis) and I have been book blogging s...
