Announcing the Autumn Reading Challenge 2025

As I've hosted an Autumn Reading Challenge on my blog earlier years, I figured out I could host one this year too. So here we go, the autumn reading challenge for 2025.


The rules are fairly simple and straight forward. Complete as many prompts as you want/can, and feel free to read more than one book for each prompt. It's not like I'm a teacher and will check if you've done your homework - it's supposed to be fun. If you want to, you're totally allowed to share your reads on Instagram or TikTok with the hashtag #TrykksverteAutumnReading2025 , but no pressure, although it would be fun to see what everyone else is reading. Also, the challenge runs from September 1st 2025 to November 30th 2025.

Now, over to the prompts. Even though I'm focusing on blogging and reviewing horror and paranormal books on this blog, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, so I've got a nice mix of prompts that could suit a lot of peole.

Reading Prompts
  • Read a book that has autumn, Mabon, Halloween/Samhain or an autumn month in the title
  • Read a scary book for Halloween
  • Read a dark academia novel
  • Read a crime/mystery novel
  • Read a rainy day read
  • Read a paranormal novel
  • Read a gothic horror novel
  • Read a classic ghost story
  • Read a book with a coffee shop, café, or bookstore setting
  • Read a book with pumpkins or the colour orange on the cover
  • Read a book with a cabin or in the woods as a setting
  • Read a book with a farm setting or similar
  • Read a book with a small town setting
  • Read a book that includes baking/cooking or a recipe
  • Read a book set during the autumn
  • Read a book featuring a black cat - either in the story or on the cover
  • Read a book with apples or leaves on the cover
  • Read a book with a spooky cover
  • Read a book with autumn vibes in one way or another

Additional prompts
  • Make a cosy recipe from a book
  • Read by a crackling fire
  • Read at a coffee shop
  • Light candles and have a cosy reading night in
  • Add pumpkins to your bookshelf
  • Attend a library event
  • Read outside (weather permitting of course)
  • Create a cosy autumn reading spot

Announcing the 2022 Diversity Reading Challenge

As we're writing 2022 in two months, I figured out it was time to announce the 2022 Diversity Challenge. I've hosted it in 2019 and 2021, and decided to host it next year too. I’m not going to make any categories or levels for this challenge, as I want it to be a bit flexible. Top Ten Tuesday; Reasons Why I Love Being a Book Blogger

It's Tuesday again and time for a new Top Ten Tuesday post, courtesy of  That Artsy Reader Girl . The theme of the week was reasons why I love X and I decided writing about why I love being a book blogger. 1) It gives me an outlet for my book passion 2) It gives me an excuse to read (not that I need an excuse of course) 3) The perk of recieving press copies from authors and publishers 4) The nice comments from authors when they've seen I've written a nice review of one of their books 5) Being part of the book blogger/bookish community, even if it has some flaws 6) Having a platform where I can raise awareness about diversity from time to time (and other issues related to books/literature) 7) Connecting with other book lovers 8) Discovering all the amazing books that's out there 9) Dabbling with Bookstagram 10) Getting inspiration, both in terms of books to read, but also book merch to buy, topics to talk about, etc.
